Award-winning singer, David Adeleke better known as Davido has opened up on the tragic loss of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The singer in a touching interview with CNN broke down in tears as he spoke about his first son’s untimely death.
He revealed that grieving the loss of his son had some impact on his album.
According to him, he had finished the album before the tragic loss, which made him take a step back.
“Before my son passed, we had finished the album. But it was a tragic situation and I had to calm myself down and take a step back”.
He stated that he and his wife, Chioma Rowland didn’t deserve that.
“Nobody would want that. And everybody knows that I and Chioma didn’t deserve that”.
Speaking on his return, Davido credits it to the love he received from his fans, family, friends, and loved ones.
“At some point, I couldn’t open my Instagram for weeks. One day, I just checked it and I saw messages from every kind of person in the world. I was like you’re fine, you see everybody is rooting for you. That was one thing that made me strong enough to stand up again, get back in the studio, and do what I love”.

Davido speaks about losing his son and loved ones
Jaratunnes reported that Davido had spoken out for the first time about losing his son and loved ones.
During his media rounds for his new album, Timeless, Davido revealed that LCND from his album was dedicated to them.
According to him, losing his mother at 10, his bodyguard, and his best friend within the space of two years, and then his son was too much for him to bear.
Though they might be gone, the singer stated that he still feels them around him and would always be with him. They were the inspiration behind his song, LCND.
