Nationwide Celebrate As Popular Singer Davido Updates His Wikipedia “To Married” After He Paid Chef Chioma’s Bride Price In Full

The news that award-winning Nigerian artist David Adedeji Adeleke, better known as Davido, revised his relationship status on Wikipedia has thrilled the entire country of Nigeria.

A short time ago, on January 5, 2023, the artist finished the bride price for Chef Chioma in her hometown of Owerri, Nkworji Ezeala odu, Nkwerre LGA, Imo State.

Davido’s Wikipedia status was changed to married to Chioma Rowland as soon as the news of his traditional marriage ceremony with Chioma became public.

Fans of the artist were ecstatic to hear this wonderful news, and the Wikipedia entry also revealed that their rumored private wedding, which was said to have taken place last year weeks after the couple lost their cherished son, Ifeanyi, was real.

Singer Davido finally pays Chioma’s bride price in full at Ezeala Odu, Imo state

Recall that At Ezeala Odu, Imo state, singer Davido has completed the bride price (Umunna) payment for Chioma.

To the Umunna group in Owerre, Nkworji Ezeala ofu Nkwerre Local Government Area, Imo State, the artist has made complete payment.

Chioma’s father may be seen completing the Umunna and Umuada ceremonies in pictures and videos that were uploaded online.

The second phase of an Igbo wedding is the Umunna rites which is a meeting between the groom’s family and the bride’s extended family. This meeting is important because the groom’s people have to restate their interest in marrying from the bride-to-be family, in the presence of her Umunna (direct and extended family, with family elders). Once consent has been secured, dates for the traditional wedding will be set and the bride price list will be sent out. The groom takes a few gifts such as kola nuts, palm wine, beer, soft drinks, tobacco, snuff and a goat which will be shared between the groom and bride’s family.

Davido traditionally weds Chioma

IgbohoConnect News reported that Davido and Chioma had traditionally wedded in November, following the loss of their son.

Gistlovers blog had alleged that the singer secretly got married to Chioma after their son’s death.

The traditional wedding which was done in his father’s house, had few family friends in attendance with no camera allowed.

According to the blog, Chioma’s bride price had been paid in full.

Recall that Davido had vowed to marry Chioma next year, but after the tragedy happened, the singer speedily wedded her.

The traditional wedding was held on November 6th, to console Chioma and assure her of her place with Davido.
